Dedicated to the memory of Alan Eaton

This site is a tribute to Alan Eaton, who was born in Heywood on March 8th 1955. He is much loved by his wife of 42 years Margaret and daughters Anne-Marie, Catherine and Helen. Alan is also greatly loved and missed by his grandchildren Louis, Izzy, Ella-Grace, Hayden and Ethan.

A postman for 33 years with a love of fishing, especially sea fishing. Alan had a great love of the sea, nature, animals and of course Manchester City. He was a kind and caring man who would help anyone. Alan had a quick wit and kept his many friends entertained over a pint.

His family have set up this page in his memory and to raise money for the Critical Intensive Care Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Alan was admitted to the ward after a cardiac arrest, and was in a coma during his time on the ward. From the moment he was admitted Alan was given the best care anyone could wish for and the staff gave him every chance of survival, unfortunately this was not meant to be. Alan's family were taken care of from the moment he was admitted and treated with kindness and understanding. We are eternally grateful to them for all they did and for allowing us those three weeks to say goodbye. We hope to raise money to help the ward help other families through the very worst of times.
